BFM has the capability to design pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and a wide range of industrial equipment. Experienced engineers will design pressure vessels and heat exchangers according to the appropriate pressure vessel code. The department can also size heat exchangers based upon process requirements. Licensed professional engineers can also analyze piping loads, and design unique equipment to meet customer requirements. AutoCAD draftsmen then prepare drawings quickly, using an extensive computerized library.
Equipment can be designed using most ASME II carbon steel and alloy material. Codes used include ASME I and VIII-1, TEMA, API standards, and various wind and seismic codes. Familiarity with ASME and NBIC forms and procedures allows Code parts, repairs, and alterations to be provided in addition to complete new units. Experience and a library of specifications help provide cost effective solutions to special situations, while conforming to customer needs.
